In April of 1820, God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ, visited the young boy and future prophet, Joseph Smith, the beginning of what was to become the restoration of the true church of Jesus Christ... This photo reminds me of Joseph's recounting of the experience: "I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which gradually descended until it fell upon me."

O How Lovely

Old Rainier
While my wonderful niece, Bethany, stayed with us for a day last week, we went out about the town to find some good photos for her photography class back in Utah. This is one she took that I doctored up a bit in PSE...

Flying Away
This morning was incredible as I drove by Idylwood Park in Redmond on my way to work. I couldn't help but stop!

Past Prime
After being inside with sick boys all day yesterday, we had to get out in the afternoon and take a walk. It was the perfect fall afternoon - blustery but warm, sunny... Some of the leaves are already past their prime.

D on Red
.jpg)
I found this great red barn on the drive home from work Friday that I thought would make a great setting for family photos. I came away discouraged for the most part, as I realized just how little I know about taking pictures of humans, posing, etc. - particularly in sunlight... But I did get a couple of good ones - this one of D being one of them...

Playing with selective color
I just learned how to do selective color effectively in PSE. This is my first try, from D's soccer game last week...
